The Impostor Panel 1

In spite of a certain critics reporting otherwise, "Impostor The Director's Cut"
is rated by Hollywood Sleepers as a surprisingly good movie.

"Impostor" takes the Philip K. Dick short story and goes it one or two better.
Screenwriters Mark Protosevich, Scott Rosenberg, David Twohy and Ehren Kruger added a few
inspired elements to Dick's story that enhance the movie version significantly.

Set in a future when Earth is under consistant attack by aliens, "Impostor" ups the ante on space warfare.

The FX shots are very well done but the lighting seems to be trying too hard to match
Ridley Scott's look in "Blade Runner".

Performances are top rate from a good cast lead by Gary Sinise creating Spencer Olham,
a government defence worker, handling growing paranoia and reacting to exponentially increasing bad news.
Spencer Olham under siege is a difficult role to pace and make believable but Sinise,
also a producer on the film, does a truly great job. Probably one of his better efforts.

Vincent D'Onofrio is particularly good as Major Hathaway, the complex government
type, tasked with saving an important official from a determined but unwitted alien assassin.

Madeleine Stowe is perfectly cast as Maya Olham, Spencer's wife. Their relationship
does a double take in a wonderful "Impostor" plot element.

The supporting cast, includes Mekhi Phifer, Tony Shalhoub, Gary Dourdan, Clarence Williams III,
Linda Crouse and Tim Guinee, all contributing high quality work to this under rated sci-fi /action / thriller.

Critic boos aside, "Impostor" needs only a little forgiveness, for a couple of technical curiosities,
to be a thoroughly entertaining experience. - Hollywood Sleeper
